Thank you! Below is what you submitted to the Bookstore:
EGR-220-01: Linear Circuits
If new editions become available before classes start, would you like to use the new editions?
No
If yes, are you aware if a new edition is currently available?
Yes
Will the students enrolling in this course already have the textbook from a previous course that they themselves have taken?
No
Do you require a CD or access code, if one is available?
No
Will you be advising the students that they NEED to have their own textbook, that they may share a particular textbook, that they really don't need the textbook, or any other options you might share with the students? We would appreciate knowing this so that we can make a more responsible order decision on how many textbooks to order.
The textbook is required for all students in EGR 220. This course will be peer graded. For this reason, every student needs simultanious access to the textbook. Each student should personally own a textbook.

NEW THIS YEAR:
Professor De Boer will be following a new policy in the Engineering Department. During tests and the final exam for this course, only calculators on the NCEES approved list will be allowed. Previously no calculators were allowed on tests in this course. If you are unfamiliar with the calculators on the approved list, Professor De Boer invites you to speak with him or any other faculty member to help you make your choice. Reviews of these calculators can also be found via a Web search, just type "<model number> review" into your favorite Web search engine and browse the results. Complex number operations will be used in this course. Some calculators on the approved list do not offer direct support for complex number operations. Then it takes sbout four real operations to do the equivalent of one complex operation. All the calculators on the list will be able to be used to solve any test problem that needs a calculator, but they are not all equivalently efficient at solving the types of problems encountered in this course. The approved list can be found here:

A new fifth edition of the required textbook is available. Professor De Boer will not be using the new edition. It is mostly page-for-page the same as the less expensive fourth edition. Used copies of the fourth edition are recommended for even more savings.
THE SAME AS LAST YEAR:
The textbook is sometimes available in a package with another book. The package has ISBN 978-0-07-726319-5. The other book(s) in the package are irrelevant to this course, however if the package is less expensive than the textbook by Alexander & Sadiku alone, then get the package! This textbook is also available directly from the publisher in electronic format. See http://www.coursesmart.com/fundamentals-of-electric-circuits-4th-edition/alexander-charles-sadiku-matthew/dp/0077272366 but beware that the "free trial" offered there will not get students through the course.
